Former Miss Teen USA Kamie Crawford will host the upcoming season of Are You the One? on Paramout. The series’ ninth season will begin on January 18, 2023, and will transition from MTV to Paramount+ after 8 years. Ryan Devlin hosted the first five seasons of Are You the One? before being replaced by Terrence J for seasons six through eight. Season 9 of Are You the One? Kamie will accompany 22 single men and women on dates and assist them to build emotional relationships with one another. She is well-known for presenting a number of prominent television series, including the Catfish and the Sweet Life: Los Angeles reunion episode.

Kamie Crawford was born on October 25, 1992, in Cleveland, Ohio, and is the oldest of five sisters. She attended Winston Churchill High School in Maryland and was a member of the cheering squad. Kamie was accepted into Georgetown University’s Congressional Student Leadership Conference’s medical program before winning Miss Teen USA. She enrolled at the New York Film Academy in 2010 and graduated from Fordham University with a communications and media degree in 2015.
Kamie was urged to join the pageant by a friend, and she began training with Miss Pennsylvania USA 2008 Lauren Merola. This buddy of hers had competed in the same tournament two years before to Kamie. Crawford won Miss Maryland Teen USA 2010 after just five months of training. In July 2010, she competed in the Miss Teen USA pageant, representing her hometown. Kamie was the first woman and third Hispanic to win the championship from Maryland. Crawford co-hosts MTV’s Catfish: The TV Show with Nev Schulman in addition to presenting Are You the One. She is a social media influencer that has over 600,000 Instagram followers.
Crawford intends to utilize her celebrity as a model to:
“increase the visibility of body positivity and diversity in the digital space and beyond.”
Are You the One presenter was participating in the 2020 election and is currently the Congressional Black Caucus PAC’s Voter Engagement Ambassador. She volunteers with the NAACP, the California Department of Health, and the Pandemic Action Network. Crawford has her own podcast, Relationsh*t, created by Dear Media Studios. She also sells her own merchandise on Instagram and will soon be seen presenting MTV’s Ex on the Beach Couples and Paramount+’s Are You the One?

According to the series synopsis on Paramount+:
“Twenty-two newly single men and women from all around the world were put through a rigorous matching procedure in order to locate their “ideal mate.” The singles will come from all over the globe and will live together under one roof in a foreign location with one objective in mind: to find ‘the one.’ Every week, the singles will have the chance to meet their soul mate. And if they can find all 11 perfect matches at the same moment, they’ll share a large financial award.”
The Are You the One? creators have previously linked 11 couples using a proprietary algorithm. The hopefuls will now live together and go on dates in order to locate that elusive ‘perfect match.’ Based on the previous season, the main prize for the program will be $1,000,000, with the producers deducting $250,000 for each inaccurate match.
Are you the right one? Season nine will consist of 10 episodes, which will be released on Paramount+ every Wednesday at 3 a.m. ET. Rob LaPlante, Scott Jeffress, Howard Schultz, and Jeff Spangler are the series’ producers.
