Season 12 of Halloween Wars is nearly here, and its presenter, Zak Bagans, characterizes it as the most intense season ever. The event will feature nine teams competing for the $25,000 main prize. All they have to do to win is create baked delicacies and pumpkins inspired by Zak’s spooky tales. Eddie Jackson, Shinmin Li, and Aarti Sequeira will join him in determining who will win the $1,000 prize and be declared Halloween Wars champion.

The show’s summary stated:

“Season 12 of Halloween Wars is back, and the show is looking for daring and incredibly creative cake, sugar, and pumpkin artisans to take on challenges inspired by ghost investigator Zak Bagans’ haunted journeys. Competitors from throughout the country demonstrate their abilities in an attempt to win the $25,000 main prize.”

Halloween Wars will air on the Food Network on Sunday, September 18 at 9 p.m. ET.

The newest season of Halloween Wars will be hosted by paranormal investigator Zak Bagans.

Halloween Wars Season 12 will be hosted by the actor, author, TV personality, museum operator, and chief paranormal investigator. Bagans co-created the independent documentary Ghost Adventures with Nick Groff, a fellow paranormal investigator and musician, and Aaron Goodwin in 2007. The Travel Channel subsequently made it into a nine-season series. Bagans later featured in Ghost Adventures: Aftershocks, Netherworld, and Deadly Possessions, which aired from 2014 to 2016.

Bagans now resides in Las Vegas, where he developed The Haunted Museum, an award-winning tourist attraction that receives over 7000 visitors every month. After graduating from the Motion Picture Institute in Michigan, he relocated to Las Vegas to pursue a career as a documentary filmmaker and paranormal researcher.

Zak’s interest in ghost hunting started after he met the spirit of a lady who committed herself in one of his homes. While his attitude to spirits is forceful and confrontational, he describes himself as a peaceful and serene person who enjoys automobiles, candy, and video games. He inked a three-year deal with Discovery+ earlier this year and will have to feature in and create over 100 hours of supernatural and horror programs, including the blockbuster series Ghost Adventures, which will debut on the streaming platform in 2021.

According to Matthew Butler, General Manager of Travel Channel and Paranormal Streaming Content,

“We are pleased to continue our fantastic partnership with Zak in the next years to develop even more breakthrough paranormal entertainment.”

He went on:

“Zak’s genuine voice, engaging style, vivid narrative, and creative vision are a valuable addition to our streaming portfolio, producing riveting material that takes this genre to new heights. He has become a brand symbol. There is so much more to come, and we can’t wait to share it with our terrified audience.”

Zak said in the Halloween Wars teaser that he has collaborated with the program to provide fans with the “scariest season” ever. He went on to say:

“The competition this year will be inspired by my trips and my terrible collection of ghostly items.”

The event will begin with some voodoo in a New Orleans-themed qualifier in which three of the show’s nine teams will compete. To avoid elimination, these teams must “cast a spell” with Marie Laveau and wow the judges.
