Who Is Adrienne Cheatham From “Selena+Chef”?

The new season of Selena + Chef will premiere its first three episodes on HBO Max on August 18 at 3 a.m. ET. The program will once again showcase Selena Gomez receiving culinary lessons from ten prominent celebrity chefs. Adrienne Cheatham is one of these famous cooks.

Cheatham previously competed on Top Chef Season 15, finishing second. She was also one of the topics of the New York Times documentary Tastemakers, which looked at the problems that young aspiring chefs and other food industry workers confront. Before the season launch of Adrienne Cheatham’s HBO Max culinary program, here are a few additional things you should know about her.

Adrienne Cheatham dubbed the “Pop-up Princess,” is the originator of SundayBest, a pop-up series conducted in hidden places across Harlem during which Cheatham prepares a four-course dinner for the visitors. In addition to becoming a famous chef, she has released her first book, Sunday Best: Cooking Up the Weekend Spirit Every Day. Her secret Sunday supper gatherings inspired the title of her cookbook. Adrienne Cheatham is a New York Institute of Culinary Education graduate. During her tenure there, she bartended at night and worked for other cooks in her spare time. She began working as a commis at La Bernardin, a three-Michelin-starred restaurant, after graduation. Her efforts were rewarded when, after eight years, she was promoted to Executive Sous Chef.

She has since collaborated with numerous prominent chefs, including Eric Ripert and Marcus Samuelsson. She is also recognized for organizing special tasting menus, such as the Red Rooster’s Black History Month menu. Cheatham debuted on Season 15 of Top Chef, where she advanced to the finals and finished second. There hasn’t been much information released regarding her presence on the current HBO Max episode.

According to a press release for the current season of the cookery show:

“SELENA + CHEF returns, this time to the beach with Selena and her friends and family.” Season four will be set in a beach villa, where Selena will continue to discover the delights of cooking with all-star chefs.”

Gordon Ramsay, Devonn Francis, Kristen Kish, Ludo Lefebvre, Nick DiGiovanni, Paola Velez, Priya Krishna, and Rachael Ray are among the luminaries that have taken Gomez under their culinary wing this season.

In a news release regarding the play, the actress stated:

“I’m excited to be back in the kitchen with some of the world’s top chefs for another season.” I hope my abilities have improved. More significantly, we were able to gather funds for fantastic humanitarian organizations.”

The lighthearted culinary program is created by July Moon Productions, and the executive producers are Gomez, Eli Holzman, and Aaron Saidman of Industrial Media.
