Hawkins married his long-time fiancée, Alison, in 2005, and she has played a significant role in his personal life and his career as a rock musician. In an interview, the musician stated that he never envisioned marrying and having a kid at the age of 25. Oliver Shane is the couple’s son, and Annabelle and Everleigh are their daughters.

In 2019, the drummer published an album based on his experiences as a suburban dad and spouse. Get the Money was the title. Hawkins created a song for Annabelle called Middle Child for the CD. The musician had created it for his eldest kid but was unable to locate the exact words.

Hawkins reportedly lived in Hidden Hills, California, with his family, according to Hollywood Mask.

Grohl Remarked On His Friendship With Hawkins, “

“We met backstage at festivals all over the world long before he became a Foo Fighter, and our chemistry was so clear that even Alanis herself once asked him, “What are you going to do when Dave wants you to be his drummer?”

Foo Fighters were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2021. Hawkins was dubbed “the best drummer alive” by actor Jack Black in a video package released before the band’s acceptance.
