‘P-Valley’ Season 2 Will be Release In June Of 2022
When P-Valley premiered on Starz in 2020, it took the world by storm. The show, which revolves around the fictional Mississippi strip club The Pynk, owned by the gender-fluid, fashion-forward boss Uncle Clifford, received positive reviews from fans and critics upon its debut.
It was so well received for its cinematography and depiction of the lives of Black female strippers that Starz renewed it after only two weeks on the air. Unfortunately, the second season was delayed due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
For a while, it was difficult to predict when the show would return due to the setback. But it’s now official: P-Valley Season 2 will be available by the end of June.
The ‘P-Valley’ Season 2 announcement confirmed the return of a character.
The announcement not only revealed the release date and the main cast, but it also confirmed the return of Parker Sawyer’s Andre Watkins.
Since the P-Valley Season 1 finale, which aired in September 2020, there has been some speculation about his future on the show. Andre left town in the episode after failing to secure a bid for The Pynk, which was put up for auction after Uncle Clifford fell behind on his bills.
After Autumn repurchased the club, Andre paused briefly to say goodbye before departing to return home with his wife. But it appears that he will return. Gail Bean of Snowfall and Psalms Salazar of High Q is among the newcomers to the show. According to Shadow and Act, Bean will play the feisty dancer Roulette, while Salazar will play Whisper, a fellow dancer described as the “air to Roulette’s fire.”
“You’re going to be mad, you’re going to be happy, you’re going to be sad,” Brandee Evans (Mercedes) told Gold Derby of season 2. “But it’s going to be a wonderful variety.”
The upcoming season will be a “rollercoaster ride.”
P-Valley Season 2 plot details are scarce, but it sounds like an adventure. “You’re going to be mad, you’re going to be happy, you’re going to be sad,” Mercedes driver Brandee Evans told Gold Derby of season 2. “However, there will be a wonderful variety.”
“It’s a roller coaster ride,” she added, explaining that her character Mercedes, in particular, has a lot to deal with this season. “You are about to witness Mercedes embark on a unique journey.” Some things you wouldn’t expect from her might appear this season, so that’s a hint.” Evans also mentioned that viewers would be able to see the dancers outside of the club.
“It’s even more prevalent in season two that you can see that this is way beyond these ladies being naked and showing their bodies and being on a pole,” she added. “You’re going to see a lot of things that happen outside the club this season, making it humanizing as well. Because everyone has a life when they go home from their job and so do these women and these men in the club as well.”
