MONSTA X Has Revealed The Tracklist For Their Next Mini-Album ‘REASON’

MONSTA X has revealed the tracklist for their much-anticipated return with their 12th mini album REASON on December 20, 2022. According to the social media ad, REASON will have six songs, including the title single Beautiful Liar. Daydream, Crescendo, LONE RANGER, Deny, and It’s Okay are among the b-sides (translated name.) The new album will be released on January 9, 2023, marking the band’s comeback after a nine-month hiatus. SHAPE OF LOVE, their most recent album, was released in April 2022.

REASON is the group’s first album after their contracts were extended, with the exception of rapper I.M, who departed the agency, Starship Entertainment, in August 2022. Despite being an active part of the group, the rapper has inked an exclusive deal with Sony Music Korea for his solo endeavors. It is also the group’s third release without its leader Shownu, who enrolled in the military in July 2021 and is scheduled to be released in April 2023.

With self-produced songs for REASON, MONSTA X will reminisce on an eight-year journey.

The next album Explanation from Starship Entertainment will reflect on the band’s eight-year journey since their debut in 2015 and uncover a clear reason for their presence in the present. According to the label, the title single Beautiful Liar will include an infectious groove paired with the group’s strong vocals and performance to portray the narrative of love discovered in the most extreme and hazardous sort of relationship.

Beautiful Liar and other tunes, according to the tracklist poster, are self-produced by the band. Main rapper Joohoney, who is well-known for his songwriting abilities, supplied lyrics to five of the six tunes on the new album. On Twitter, MONBEBE (MONSTA X’s fans) hailed the tracklist’s unveiling. They were especially taken by the title tune, which was written by the maknae line of Joohoney, Hyungwon, and I.M. Furthermore, since the song had the same name as Shakira and Beyoncé’s 2006 smash, it pushed fans into a frenzy.

Individual projects of MONSTA X members

Many solo projects of the members were announced during the eight months when MONSTA X had not released new music. Kihyun, the group’s main singer, made his solo debut in October 2022 with YOUTH, a five-track mini album.
