Mampintsha was well-known as a member of Big Nuz.
Mampintsha was born on July 18, 1982, and was best known as a member of Big Nuz. Big Nuz was made up of three members, Mzi and Sbu being the other two. They started by partnering with a few artists before signing with Gallo Records in 2006. Their first album, Zozo, was met with critical acclaim, and it was followed by a single, Uyoysholo Wena. The band signed with another record company, Afrotainment, and their following album, 2nd Round Knockout, became a great smash. It received several honors, which led to more collaborations and recognition. Undisputed, the group’s third album, was released in 2009, and its hits were well-received by the audience.
Pound for Pound was Big Nuz’s second album, followed by Made in Africa and For The Fans. Sbu, one of the members, died from an illness shortly after the publication of For The Fans in 2015. R Mashesha, the group’s most recent album, was released this year (2022.)
Big Nuz received several awards at the 9th AMFA Awards, Channel O Music Awards, 16th SAMA Awards, MTV Africa Music Awards, and 22nd South African Music Awards. The group rose to prominence with hits from their albums such as Sting Ray, Inazo, Osisi Bendawo, and others.
