What can we anticipate from season 5 of Love After Lockup?

Season 5 of Love Outside Lockup will follow six couples as they face various hardships and tribulations while adjusting to life after jail. While some of the cast members are new to the series, fans have followed the progress of several of the franchise’s returning characters. The preview gives fans an idea of what to anticipate in the next season. Justine is shown declaring her love for Michael in the teaser. The scene then turns to Ashley admitting she was “drunk in love” with Travis before hugging him. The trailer also shows Aris and Cameron getting married, with the former exploding champagne.

Gabby and Chris exchange rings in the Love After Lockup season 5 trailer, as his family waits in the vehicle. The picture then switches to Nathan saying that he started conversing to Skylar when he was in jail. Following that, the teaser hints turmoil between the pair, with the former confronting Skylar about a guy who keeps contacting her. In another scene, Justine and Michael are on their way home, but the former’s children are hesitant to accept Michael as their father. Even Aris’ daughter is hesitant to refer to Cameron as her stepfather.

In another scenario, Monique admits to having never met Derek before. She even monitors Derek’s activities in her absence using a covert video camera in their home. The Love After Lockup trailer then shows Nathan arguing with his mother over her lack of support for his relationship with Skylar. She is anxious, though, since Skylar’s last two lovers died, and she does not want her kid to be the third. Meanwhile, Gabby’s mother is equally critical of her daughter’s connection with Chris, calling it a “circus.”

Gabby and Chris, a fan-favorite pair, are also shown managing their lives in a separate peek clip for the next Love After Lockup season. The former is seen discussing her strained connection with Chris’ family with a buddy. Gabby says after notifying Chris’ mother that she would not be accompanying her to fetch him up from jail:

“My connection with Chris’ family is a train wreck. The touch is limited, which I like since all they offer is drama. Chris’ mother believes I am taking advantage of him. I’m a gold prospector and everything.”

The actress shares her side of the tale. Chris had previously earned a settlement of $100,000 after being severely battered by Rikers Island officers. He handed Gabby half the money, which she said she spent on “bills, our apartment, furnishings, credit card debt, and a vehicle.” She then admits that Chris is now bankrupt, but it is she, not his mother, who is providing him with money. Love After Lockup Season 5 promises a lot of turmoil. While some couples are successful in resolving their difficulties, others may continue to struggle long after they have been released from jail. Viewers will have to tune in to observe how the cast members deal with life outside jail. Don’t forget to see a brand new episode of the series on WeTV on Friday, December 16, 2022, at 9 p.m. ET.
