Jung is the second K-drama actor to die this year. Another actor, Na Chul, died in January 2023 at the age of 36. According to Star News Korea, Chul was hospitalized when his condition worsened, and he died from intensified health concerns. Chul was most recognized for his role as Na Deok-jin in the Netflix original series Vincenzo. He has also featured in series such as Once Upon a Time in America, Yakhanyeongung, Moebius, Hospital Playlist, Sinkhole, Happiness, Weak Hero Class 1, and Little Women.
