On March 18, Apple TV+ aired WeCrashed, a new program based on the lives of Rebekah Neumann and Adam Neumann. Rebekah’s friendship with Gwyneth Paltrow has attracted attention after a dialogue between the two in the opening 20 minutes of the pilot episode. Rebekah (Anne Hathaway) stated to Adam Neumann (Jared Leto) during a conversation:
“I’m a dedicated vegan who contributes to my cousin Gwyneth Paltrow’s wellness site with a column.”
According to Adam Neumann,
“Gwyneth…as in Paltrow?” says the narrator.
To which Rebekah retorted defensively:
“She’s just a human, okay?” says the narrator.
Paltrow did not appear in the Apple TV+ series on the birth and demise of WeWork as a character or as herself.
What Is The Relationship Between Rebekah Neumann And Gwyneth Paltrow?
Rebekah Neumann’s father, Bob, is the brother of Gwyneth’s father, Bruce, making them first cousins. Despite the fact that Gwyneth never appears in WeCrashed, she and Rebekah had a friendly connection. The sitcom does, however, make references to Gwyneth’s impact; in the early episodes, Rebekah is frequently questioned, “Is Gwyneth here?” by coworkers and friends. She also tells Adam that she has written a Goop piece.
Gwyneth even sponsored one of Rebekah’s biggest projects, WeGrow, a private school for young children that combines teaching with activities to encourage mindfulness and transform education. Gwyneth and her cousin produced a brief Q&A video discussing the advantages of schooling in 2018. It was originally published on Goop’s blog but was later taken down.
