“Emancipation” Is Set To Be Released On Apple TV+

Emancipation, Will Smith’s next film, is set to premiere on Apple TV+ on Friday, December 9, 2022, at 3 a.m. ET (tentative time). The story is set in the late 1800s and is about an enslaved African-American man who escapes the terrible grip of slavery. On December 2, 2022, the film was released in select cinemas to mixed-to-positive reviews from audiences and reviewers. “The video is based on photographs of “Whipped Peter” obtained during a Union Army medical examination in 1863, which initially appeared in Harper’s Weekly. One drawing, known as “The Scourged Back,” depicts Peter’s naked back being damaged by a beating inflicted by his enslavers and eventually led to rising public resistance to slavery. Fans may anticipate a riveting historical drama that addresses a variety of complicated issues, like freedom, slavery, and humanity, based on the description and trailer.
