Dean Cain was born in Mount Clemens, Michigan in 1966. Dean never met his real father, Roger Tanaka, who abandoned Dean’s mother before he was born. Dean traveled to Los Angeles when he was barely a 3-year-old, with his mother, actress Sharon Thomas, and was adopted by Sharon’s husband Christopher Cain. Dean attended to Santa Monica High School and afterward enrolled at Princeton University to acquire a BA degree in History. During his undergraduate career, he established a football school record with 12 interceptions.
He joined the Buffalo Bills football club in 1988 but was quickly fired due to a knee injury. Dean opted to enter Hollywood after a dismal NFL career and starred on famous shows such as Beverly Hills, 90210. Dean became a national name because of his performance as Clark Kent/Superman in the 1993 ABC series Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman. It also helped him gain other well-known parts in shows like Dogboys.
Cain appeared in nine major motion pictures in 2010, including Bed & Breakfast and Hole in One. He has also hosted Ripley’s Believe It or Not!, Masters of Illusion, and Bloopers. In 2018, he was sworn in as a reserve police officer in Idaho, where he still works. On May 1, 2022, Dean was knighted by Queen Mia Dorsett. Dean and his ex-girlfriend, model Samantha Torres, have a kid called Christopher. He will now appear on Christmas Around the World.
