Barcelona Plot January Move For €40 Million-Rated Juventus Star Dejan Kulusevski

Barcelona is interested in Juventus winger Dejan Kulusevski during the January transfer window. The Catalan giants are eager to add an attacking player to their squad.

Barcelona is planning a €40 million move for Kulusevski, according to Fichajes. The Blaugrana are currently dealing with an attack injury crisis, which could force them to sign an attacker in January.

After undergoing a ‘cardiological evaluation’ a fortnight ago, Argentine forward Sergio Aguero may be forced to retire from football.

Ousmane Dembele, the French forward, returned to action for Barcelona after five months out with a hamstring injury. It is expected to keep him out of commission for a few weeks. Ansu Fati, a teenage sensation, was sidelined for nine months after suffering a long-term knee injury against Celta Vigo in November of last year. The 19-year-old returned to Barcelona action at the start of the season, scoring four goals in eight games. He did, however, sustain an injury in the first half of Barcelona’s 3-3 draw with Celta Vigo earlier this month.

Barcelona has had a disappointing start to the 2021-22 season, sitting in ninth place in the La Liga table. The Camp Nou club fired Dutch manager Ronald Koeman two weeks ago and hired club legend Xavi Hernandez as their new manager. In January, Xavi is reportedly looking to add two or three new players to Barcelona’s squad. They have reportedly identified Kulusevski of Juventus as a possible transfer target. Last season, the Swedish winger had a breakout season for Juventus, scoring seven goals in 47 appearances across all competitions.

Kulusevski, on the other hand, has fallen down the pecking order at Juventus this season under Massimiliano Allegri’s management. He has only made two starts for Juventus this season and has had to settle for a supporting role in Turin. The 21-year-old is thought to be open to leaving the Bianconeri in January. Barcelona’s dire financial situation could impede the signing of Juventus winger Dejan Kulusevski in January. During the winter transfer window, the club could look to sign some players on loan or through free agency.

The La Liga giants are reportedly considering Chelsea star Hakim Ziyech as a replacement for Dejan Kulusevski. The Moroccan is eager to leave Stamford Bridge because he cannot get regular playing time. According to reports, Barcelona could try to sign Chelsea winger Hakim Ziyech and Manchester United midfielder Donny van de Beek on loan for the rest of the season in January.
