Who Is Alex Belew From “Hell’s Kitchen” Season 21?

Chef Alex Belew has confirmed his participation in Hell’s Kitchen 2022. (season 21). Alex, who sold his company to be on the reality series, will compete for the championship in the episode, which will premiere on Thursday, September 29, 2022, at 8 p.m. ET/PT on FOX. The Battle of the Ages version will have 18 cooks divided into two groups. The over-40s will play on the blue team, while the under-20s will be on the red squad. The competitors will fight for the position of head chef at one of the flagship restaurants of host and celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay.

Hell’s Kitchen’s summary is as follows:

“Aspiring chefs are put through a grueling culinary school in the long-running series to show they have the stamina and talent to participate in the competition each week.” Only those with the correct mix of elements will be able to compete until a winner is declared. A life-changing ultimate prize, including chef jobs at some of Ramsay’s most renowned restaurants around the nation, as well as the title of HELL’S KITCHEN winner, is at risk.”

Alex Belew is an award-winning executive chef and the presenter of the podcast Cooking, Cocktails & Community. Chef Alex of Hell’s Kitchen was also the owner/chef of the Murfreesboro restaurant Dallas and Jane for four years, from April 2018 to April 2022. He also had a meal prep business called Made South Meals. The Hell’s Kitchen participant has worked in hospitality for 24 years. According to his LinkedIn page, his “first restaurant was selected Rutherford County’s Best Restaurant by Eater Nashville and the Firefly Awards.”

In 2003, he graduated from Middle Tennessee State University (MTSU) with a degree in Psychology. He did, however, discover his real calling in the culinary industry. Alex began his career in the profession more than a decade ago, but others were not pleased with his choice. He wrote in one of his Instagram posts:

“Someone told me 15 years ago that I was an idiot for selecting this as a job. Every day, I’ve worked hard to disprove that person.”

According to his website, alexbelew.com, Alex learned the foundations of cooking at The Art Institute of Tennessee in Nashville, where he graduated with Honors in Culinary Arts degree. Before becoming an executive chef at Alex Belew Catering, LLC and MADE SOUTH HOSPITALITY, he worked as a line cook and culinary teacher. Alex “built the #1 culinary program in the state, earning the NRA Prostart Championship” while working as a culinary teacher at Blackman High School.

Alex is slated to participate in season 21 of Hell’s Kitchen after years of “learning, self-teaching, and working in some of Nashville’s greatest restaurants, including Husk by Sean Brock.”

In response to his selection for Hell’s Kitchen, he commented on Instagram:

“Just getting on this program was an achievement.” Thousands of applicants applied. It was arguably the most energizing experience of my life. I can’t wait for you to see these fellow cooks, whom I now consider family, battle, strive, fight, win, and become the finest versions of themselves. I was lucky to be on the program, but I’m even more pleased by the folks I met while there.”
